Ha. Obama said the day he took office the troops would be out of Afghanistan and Iraq. well? are they out yet? Obviously no, because any one that new anything about anything knows that we can't pull out of Iraq or else Iran would run the oil fields and take over that country entirely. And we need apparently 50,000 more troops in Afghanistan or else more troops are gonna die. Shame Reps ran a crap campaign. If they got Romney and NOT Sarah Palin as VP, Reps woulda won. couldn't agree more. The stimulus package goal was changed from CREATING jobs to SAVING jobs. Obviously Obama isn't helping us. His speech at the UN was a joke. btw, he's going to court January 26th because military officials in Iraq and Afghanistan claim he's not there Commander In Chief, because he wasn't born in America. That's going to be historic if it turns out he really wasn't born here. Hopefully he gets out of office ASAP.

At the time of the elections, we were already incredibly in debt and you think he was pushing for 100 more yrs?! One way for an invading nation to afford the cost of control of its conquered land is by consuming their natural resources. I really don't think Europe and Nato would allow this for 100 years? Certainly not the other Muslim nations.

@NewRemorse I meant 100 more years of war and not just presence. He meant 100 years of presence after the war just like Korea. Although, technically, they are still at war.

The real problem is where our tax payer dollars are really going. That's the main problem. Every social class should pay a significant less amount of taxes. And we shouldn't be putting shit loads of dollars into bullshit like welfare. Before the Great Depression if u didn't work u didn't eat, and welfare was only temporary, now it's a generation to generation thing. There's another problem.

The 100 years comment was taken out of context... We're still in Japan, Italy and Germany since WWII and we're not necessarily at war... He didn't mean we'd be at war in Iraq for 100 years...

And everyone knows that if we stayed in Iraq for 100 years we'll be fighting for 100 years. They were a sovereign nation, that we attempted to occupy. If some country came here and tried to occupy us for 100 years, they'd be at war with us for 100 years.
We didn't try to occupy Germany, Japan and Italy. Huge difference.

But he took John McCain's quote out of context for political gain, as most politicians would... Its just not "change"... Its more of the same...

You all (I was of Russian decent, look me up!) shouldn't invade countries who aren't attacking just because war = capital. In all fairness to Vietnam & Korea it wasn't unreasonable for them to arrest McCain. Had Vietnam sent personnel to invade America they'd have been obliterated, not captured. Even IF the myth which spread is accurate, would state-authoritated breeding be such a bad thing??

Rationality is something that you two quite obviously know nothing about, so let me educate you. Since World War 1, we have as a country come to the realization that we cannot dictate foreign policy based on who openly and directly attacks our country. First of all, our allies (S Vietnam and Israel included) would probably take exception to that policy. Secondly, if you think that it makes sense to ONLY strike second, then you obviously know nothing about how war is waged in this generation.

If you were the president, would you stand idly by while Iraq repeatedly violates UN SANCTIONS (not US sanctions) regarding WMDs, refuses to let inspectors have total access to your country, and then preaches across the Arab world about how weak and ineffectual the US is? If so, then I thank god someone like you isn't running our country. Unfortunately for us at that time, most of the countries in the UN were turning toward a more "live and let live" philosophy, and there leaders were afraid

of losing their jobs, so the few that had the balls to stand up and say it is the right thing to do, job be damned, are the ones that have been demonized in the media and accused of war mongering. Any politician that is worthwhile should always be willing to sacrifice his job and reputation in the eyes of the people in order to do whats right for the country. Obama has been in office for a year, please respond if you think the country is better off, and be prepared to defend your position.

I reluctantly agree with you on one thing, that we should just leave the Muslim countries alone and let them sink under their own radicalism, but the channel builds at the point where you imply that we are attacking the Iraqi people, and that is just untrue. Granted, this is war and collateral damage is inevitable, but you remember after we drove Saddam and his forces from Baghdad, how people filled the streets cheering the US and tearing down the statue of Saddam? Remember, every news organization and every person has an individual opinion and it tends to come out whenever they are given a public forum. I.E one Iraqi civilian on NBC preaching death to America or burning an effigy of Bush DOES NOT represent the whole country.

First, it cracks me up that there are still people who believe this foolishness. But even if it were true, it would not result in McCain becoming president. There is nothing in the constitution that would give the presidency to the runner up in the last election if the president is found to be unfit to serve. The presidency would go to the Vice President. The fact that they were elected together is meaningless.
